More Tike for you? Patterson files as a free agent

Corey Patterson filed for free agency Wednesday, joining a celebrated class of center fielders that also includes Atlanta's Andruw Jones and Minnesota's Torii Hunter. Patterson is the second Oriole to file for free agency since the World Series ended (z note: the first was Base Knock Bako), but all teams will retain exclusive negotiating rights with their free agents until Nov. 2... Patterson batted .313 with a .333 on-base percentage after the All-Star break in 2007, but a sprained left ankle caused him to miss virtually all of the season's final month.

Tike Redman is less likely than a year of Payton in center, since Redman's chances of looking like shit in spring training are pretty high.

There's a good chance the Opening Day 2008 outfield could be Reimold, Payton, and Nick.

Who's your fourth outfielder?

Does Tike become the fourth guy? Is Reimold ready for the big stage (I think he might be, but he's struggling in Hawaii)? Are there any other options, perhaps even through trading Tejada?

These questions and more, rattling in my head.

That could land Matt Kemp, maybe, if Tejada would play 3B for the Dodgers.

Tike Redman is a guy you give a non-roster invite to spring training and do not in any way assume will be on your roster.

Reimold's probably as ready as he's ever gonna be. I'm not really psyched on Reimold, with his injury proneness and the fact that he probably tops out as a guy like Kevin Mench.
