McLane: I had NO IDEA Miggi was on the list!
From Yahoo! Sports
"Houston Astros owner Drayton McLane admitted Friday he was disappointed when he learned newly acquired shortstop Miguel Tejada's name appeared in the Mitchell Report, but he stood by the club's decision to deal for the four-time All-Star according to a report in the Houston Chronicle."
"I was certainly disappointed," McLane said of Tejada. "We certainly did not (anticipate it). In my 15 years of baseball, I've never seen anything that no one had any idea of anything that was there.''
Wow. I had no idea there were owners more clueless than PGA, but this guy wins by a MILE.

Is this an actual sentence?
Can we get a team of specialists on this sentence, please?
I am...
And I haven't the faintest freakin' clue what McLane actually meant there.
After concentrating, I think...maybe...what he means is that he never saw any of the sort of thing (rampant, unchecked steroid abuse) that the Mitchell report alleges was happening in MLB clubhouses all over the country.
Maybe.
BTW...when they think of Drayton McLane, does anyone else think of the crazy gun-toting Texas Rich Guy from the Simpsons? Is that just me?

Step back, people, let me take a look at this.
"Being an owner has rendered me unintelligible."
I, for one, think he is accurate in this assessment. Oh, and so do those articulate Donalds (Rumsfeld and Duck).
What are everyone not getting it?
"Nothin' says nothin' like nothin' from the oven, and Pillsbury says it best."
Only now Astro owner says best, we are thinking.
