Maybe pitch around A-Rod? I dunno -- dude is killing the ball so far this season.

Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone.

Erik Bedard gets a chance to get his season in gear after an iffy first start on Opening Day. It happens, you know? And really, I didn't think Bedard was all THAT bad. He never seemed comfortable or in a rhythm, but the two homers he gave up were back-to-back and just two really bad pitches. You have to minimize those, obviously. I'm a real scientist. He'll be fine. I'm not worried about BUH DARD.

Darrell Rasner isn't quite the scrub some of y'all are making him out to be, though, so don't get too excited. He's a talented guy that idiot Jim Bowden put on waivers. He had a 2.78 ERA in 10 starts at Columbus last year before coming up and doing well with the Yankees over six appearances (three starts) -- 4.43/1.13 in 20 innings. He's a sinker/slider guy that could be a back-end rotation filler for a long time if he stays healthy. His 2006 was shut down thanks to shoulder soreness shortly after he arrived in the bigs.

While I was sick with disgust yesterday, today I am laughing about the A-rod debacle: I mean, could you have scripted a worse outcome? HAHAHAHAHA.

It was one game in a looong season. Or, as I'm sure Buntin' Sammy has already said in the clubhouse, "It was a test of character." The question is, how do the boys respond?

BUHdard rocks. We have a nice shot at a series sweep today. And I honestly wouldn't be upset if it was a close game and Ray got called again. Get the kid back on the horse. Although three games in a row might be a strain on his arm. Whatever.

Let me just say this. To the oriole fan who's bitchin about the yankees having a two-hundred million dollar payroll and how its easy to cheer for a team like that. The Yankees didn't win championships in the past because their payroll was high. The 1996 championship was a result of having a good solid core of players who came up from the Yankees farm: Bernie williams, Andy Pettite, Mariano Rivera, and Derek Jeter. I can't stand it when fans of other teams fail to recogize this. In fact, once the Yankees started spending money on free-agents ie: Mussina, Giambi, Matsui, Pavano, Damon, they haven't won a championship. So before making igonorant comments about the Yankees, do your reserach and you will see that the more expensive the team became, the worse they got. As far as you Oriole fans, you have no right to talk about the yankees having high payrolls because your idiot owner used to do the same thing spending money on players like Albert Belle and Tejada: Are these not high-priced free agents? Don't put yourselves in the same category as the Royals or Pirates who really can't afford to spend on free agent players. The Orioles in fact are probably the #1 team when it comes to spending money foolishly.

Let me just remind you that the reason you win games nowadays, is because of your payroll. Not because of any skill in putting a team together on the part of your FO. Your system cannot come up with the players necessary to compete anymore as it had in the late 90's so Steinbrenner's checkbook has to make up the difference, and he does so to the tune of doubling, and tripling league average payrolls on teams that do not win championships. Given that all this solemn annoying "Yankee tradition" is about "winning the most championships in the history of sports" this would qualify you as also the top team of all time in terms of wasting money these past years.

I was unaware when you started talking your bullshit yesterday that we were discussing teams from ten years ago rather than the one you're fielding this season. But apparently, as most deluded Yank fans like yourself do, you're more than happy to get in a time machine back to when your team had slightly more integrity in the form of homegrown talent to prove it once existed. This however has nothing to do with today, and serves no purpose besides proving my point that you are the fans of baseball with the rich uncle writing the checks for your enjoyment. Would I take it if Angelos were doing the same thing? Of course I would...but I wouldn't delude myself your stupid ass is doing.

Anyhow, enough with the same old crap we've heard from Yankee fans for so long. You have a fitting handle by the way: your arrogance and stupidity indeed boggles the mind. And from myself and all Oriole fans everywhere, I extend a sincere Fuck You.

My point exactly. All those players you just listed did not help the Yankees win championships. They were colossal mistakes, some bigger than others. Most Yankees fans (true ones like myself) would rather see the young players come up and contribute rather than have to go outside the organization for help. This is why I am happy this year that they didn't go out on their usual post-season shopping spree and get every over-priced free-agent like Soriano or sub-par players like Jeff Suppan. They traded Sheffied and got back a good young arm for him. They traded away Randy Johnson and got some good prospects back in return. You guys hate this because this is not the "normal" way the Yankees operate and you are desparate to find things to attack them on. However, the Red Sox go out and spend almost 50 million just to win the bid for that Japanese pitcher but nobody critisizes them. If the Yankees had done that, the whole world would be bitchin about it.
BTW: I am not the one with the bug up my ass because I'm not the one always hatin on other teams the way you guys do with the Yankees. If the Orioles win a championship sometime in this century (don't hold your breath) I will be the first one to contragulate all of you. I am no hater.
