Tex to the ATL all but done: Fox Sports
Baltimore's favorite sports writer to hate Ken Rosenthal is reporting on FOXSports.com what we've been led to believe would happen all weekend: Maryland's own Mark Teixiera is heading to Atlanta to become a member of the Braves.
The Braves will receive Teixeira and left-handed reliever Ron Mahay.
The Rangers will receive catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Class A shortstop Elvis Andrus and two pitching prospects.
One of the prospects is believed to be Class AA left-hander Matt Harrison.
Update [2007-7-30 18:3:57 by duck]:It's done, for the package FOXSports reported.

I posted mine two seconds after you.

you forgot one thing
Is that the offical description now?
If it's officially pinhead, consider me duly chastised. :)
SI.com says it's official
The details, according to SI.com
The trade is contingent on a review of medical records, according to sources. An announcement could come as early as tonight.
The sides reached a compromise agreement after Texas sought a substitute for pitching prospect Matt Harrison due to injury concerns. According to the Fort Wort Star-Telegram, the Braves have agreed to send pitching prospect Neftali Feliz and a player to be named later instead of Harrison.
The Braves are not expected to pursue a long-term contract with Teixeira, who is due to become a free agent after the 2008 season and is making $9 million this year.
extension
The obvious answer is Boras but I think the Braves want to see how Tex plays up close and personal before investing a ton of money. If he performs well the rest of the season, I'm sure the Braves will approach Tex about an extension in the offseason and I'm sure Boras will decline.
good deal for both sides
Speaking of Boras

The move
The O's are cornering the market on weak catchers. I can't wait until demand surges and they can ask any price. It worked retty well with the relievers.
