Audio
In conclusion, I can't hear it.
Is this happening to everyone with MLB audio or just me?

I'm listening on XM
Adam had a decent first inning. Walked one, struck out one. Ramon had some troubles, though, making a bad throw to 2nd allowing H. Ramirez to steal, then completely flubbing the throw (he accidentally threw it up the left field line? I didn't really understand) when Ramirez stole third, allowing Ramirez to score.
Meanwhile in the bottom of the first, Roberts walks to start the game and immediately steals 2nd and 3rd base. Melvin hits a chopper to third and Roberts comes in to score.
Awwww man

the mlb audio
Adam Loewen had a poor start, but does that really mean anything? I doubt it.
boo
Adam Jones throws a strike to the plate!
real live baseball
course, as soon as I get the audio working 2 runs score and razor drops the ball.
welcome to the 2008 season!

You're good
I remember 14 straight foul balls in one at-bat.

I'm just taking my angst out for a practice spin..
Indeed
Plus, this year, all we gotta do is look at player development. I don't care if we lose 10-1, as long as we see some guys making strides to get better and reach their potential. We're not gonna be doing any "surprising" in the AL East. Let's leave that to the Rays.
So glad baseball is finally back, win or lose. Go O's!
I agree with the idea...
But the only thing that's gonna get me through watching the team finish in 5th place is the contradiction of embracing the hope they represent WHILE being cynical and depressed about the W-L record they put up. It's either that or starting up a P. Angelos "Death Pool."

But a .300 OBP in the Majors
if...
but even at .290/.340/.325 (which, by the way, would be better than he's EVER done in SIX minor league seasons), he'd STILL be one of the worst every day players in the big leagues.
less than 1/5 of his hits in the minors have gone for extra bases. so his job needs to be: get on base. a .300 OBP sucks. period.
by Dave at Bottomfeeder Baseball on Feb 28, 2008 5:37 PM EST up reply actions
that would be quite an acomplishment
And i dont know if i would call .340 middling for a SS, more like below average. I've heard that .300 is the Mendoza line for OBP, and Adam Everett has survived with a career OBP under .300. But i agree with you in that he's no good.

SLG
but you're right, it does take a "special" player to pull it off.
