Amber and the F-bomb!

YAY AMBER!

I never know exactly what to make of guys like this. I mean, his claim to fame when he's 80 might be that one time he said "fuckin'" on the TV. Kind of pointless, but who doesn't like bloopers, even when forced by the non-famous?

Fired?
Reprimanded?

If I remember alleles from high school...
...if they had four kids, one would be buff and beautiful and one would be a short, chinless monster and two would be somewhere in between.

by PhilR8 on Mar 7, 2008 2:36 PM EST to parent up   0 recs

The better question is...
is Amber just an evolved version of Erin Andrews.

When it comes to sideline reporter eye-candy...
nobody is fuckin' with Erin Andrews, but I would still marry Amber.

by GeronimoGil on Mar 7, 2008 5:55 PM EST to parent up   0 recs

Yeah, I was about the say the same thing
Erin Andrews is insanely hot.

Ehhhhh...
...they're both annoying as hell & have limited at best broadcasting skills.  Who I like is Pam Oliver, a no nonsense journalist who actually understands the medium she works in, unlike these two bozos.

hmm.
you're selling amber a little short.

she does a nice job if you ask me.

by thewaywardO on Mar 8, 2008 8:56 AM EST to parent up   0 recs

Amber
Her sideline reporting isn't great, but I blame that on the material she has to work with. Most sideline reporting isn't award winning work. I enjoy both her radio show on HFS and her column in Press Box.

by Stacey on Mar 8, 2008 9:18 AM EST to parent up   0 recs

Just take a look
at the clip.  A pro doesn't get thrown by things like that.  She's acting like she's never heard the word before.  If she were more skilled at her craft not only would she not be all phased and panicky, she'd find a nice dig or a good look to give the camera to work the guy's cursing right in there without skipping a beat.

by Jonnypops on Mar 8, 2008 9:30 AM EST to parent up   0 recs

Yeah, she's not too good at her job
Watching her handle that so horribly, get thrown off and stay thrown off like it's her first year out of broadcasting school was the funniest part of the whole thing to me

by GeronimoGil on Mar 8, 2008 9:58 AM EST to parent up   0 recs

She's awful
let's start a petition and make sure she gets fired.  She handles it like a high school student.

wait...
what did you expect to her do?  she certainly can't continue the interview.  by walking away, she got that right.  she acted surprised... i think rattled is too strong of a word, after the f-bomb, is that beef?

by birdman on Mar 8, 2008 3:49 PM EST to parent up   0 recs

Is it beef?
I'm not sure what that means.

Like I said above, if she was a pro she'd roll with it - not act all discombobulated just because some joker slipped the word "fucking" in there for emphasis.  He didn't even ask her a tough question or make it part of anything she needed to respond to.  Listen, I know a lot of people around here bear some sort of affection for Amber.  I'm not sure why - but whatever, people gotta find what joy they can out of watching the O's.  But let's not lie to ourselves and make believe she's a good journalist.

I only think she's a good journalist because she's hot.

The thing is though...
...she's not even that hot.  She's pretty - she has the typical Barbie look and it puts her above average.  But it's nothing special.  We all went to high school with several girls hotter than this. In college there were dozens of young women hotter than this.  On my block in New York I can stick my head out the window and see hotter women virtually any time of day - no joke.

If she's just being put on screen because "she's hot" then let's dispense with the formalities and put someone genuinely smokin' hot on there.  You can find them at any regional modeling agency.

Yeah, and I've said as much before.  But she's still attractive though.  Attractiveness isn't a terribly rare quality that's all.

She's fine as a sideline reporter.  Her job doesn't take many brain cells to do.  All she does is conduct short 5-minute interviews with players, fans, or personnel.  Can she speak English?  Check.  Can she speak clearly?  Check.  Is she camera friendly?  Check.  Can she write noin-stupid questions to ask people?  Check.  Is she professional?  Check.  I mean she acted surprised by the F-bomb.  If acting surprised under that scenario constitutes non-professional behavior, then I think that's being a bit too harsh.  The professional thing to do in that situaiton is to move on which she did.

I get it.
You are a man who will fight for Amber's honor.
You'll be the hero she's been dreaming of.

That you did it all for the glory of love.

I can be objective about Amber
I just think people are making something out of nothing.  Now the Karate Kid Part 2, I can't be objective about.  It's the best movie ever.

It's alright bro,
we know.  There's nothing wrong with letting those feelings out.  (Just don't do it that way with her or you'll have zero chance and be forced to watch her get swept off her feet by Roch).

"not act all discombobulated"

I didn't think she acted "discombobulated" but maybe that's just me.  She reacted very surprised and the shock stayed with her while she continued talking, but I didn't think she lost her composure.  It certainly wasn't a perfect performance but hardly damning.  She definitely did the right thing by moving on.  And I don't know if I consider sideline reporters journalists.

do you think that dude gets disciplined by under armour?
So, I said, uh, lama: how about a little something for the effort?

What an asshole
No reason to do that but I still laughed.

Amber
I went to high school with her cousin, and as odd as it is to say, her cousin is (or at least was 7 years ago) 5x hotter than Amber. That family has some good genes.
