Thoughts on this deal? It's pending physicals. Assumedly the White Sox want Thome to DH and re-sign Konerko to stay at first. Rowand is a good center fielder and should see his power numbers spike playing in that itsy bitsy ballpark. The Phillies already have their Thome replacement, so I like this deal from their end a lot. Thome is still owed $43.5 million over the next three seasons.
UPDATE: The Phils are paying $22 million of Thome's remaining money, and also get prospects Daniel Haigwood and Gio Gonzalez, both pitchers.
