So BJ's a Blue Jay for $47 million over five years. Hey, good for him. I wouldn't pay that much for him or give him a five-year deal, but he pitched his ass off the last two seasons in particular to get this payday. I'll miss him, he was a hell of a dominant reliever.
The O's could fill this hole by signing Todd Jones or someone, or they could just try Chris Ray out and save some money. It's not like a closer makes a bad team good, and the Orioles don't figure on being contenders so what good does a closer really do them? Someone will be able to do a decent enough job.
Oh, and the Red Sox threw in another prospect and (I think) some cash to also get Guillermo Mota in the Beckett/Lowell deal. EVERY MARLIN MUST GO!
