Tejada wants out.
"I've done many things with this team and I haven't seen results, and the other teams are getting stronger while the Orioles have not made any signings to strengthen the club," Tejada said.
Whether or not anything actually comes of this, this is not something we needed at all. With Edgar Renteria gone and Boston having no really good immediate replacement, we possibly, maybe - and I'm just speculating here - just became a player in the Manny Ramirez sweepstakes. I'm chewing on that one mentally and as much as I love Manny (even when he's being Manny), I'd rather not give up Tejada. Who the hell would play shortstop for us?
I doubt Tejada will get traded, but this is a bold statement. And I'm interested to see the reactions to this compared to when Steve Kline said he hated playing here, because that's more or less what Tejada is saying.
