Bedard goes six, O's beat Sox

Erik Bedard was sharp again, throwing all six innings of a rain-shortened 6-1 win over Boston yesterday. Miguel Tejada had a two-run homer and Luis Matos cleared loaded bases with a double off of David Wells. Tejada's homer was his first of the spring. Bedard's spring ERA is now 2.13 in 21 1/3 IP. I'm starting to get crazy, but I think Bedard could be the ace of our staff this season. Besides Lopez and Chen, he was really the only starter for our team last year that wasn't a mess.

The two teams play again tomorrow (today!) in Fort Lauderdale.
