Ew.
So, that didn't work out for us, really. Bedard was just shelled by the Tigers, who were just hit after hit after hit through their lineup. Bauer was no better in relief.
Nook Logan had a really nice game for Detroit, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored and also robbing two home runs (what would have been Gibbons' second of the game, and a Roberts shot in the eighth). Logan showed some tremendous range in center field.
The most satisfying part of tonight's game was Gibbons getting a couple of nice cuts, plus the big, sarcastic cheer from the Orioles fans that stuck around when Gil cut the lead to 13-3 with an RBI single in the eighth inning.
Jason Johnson started off a little wild for Detroit, but settled down properly: 7 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 0 BB. Brandon Inge was 3-for-3 with two walks, three runs and a steal. "Brandon Inge, leadoff man" sounds a little better now.
One more with the Tigers tomorrow, and then the Red Sox come to town for a pair on Wednesday and Thursday. Let's file this one under "that sucked" and move right along.
