Post-game thoughts: O's 3, Mariners 1

BJ Ryan gets his 14th save and Rafael Palmeiro hits his fifth homer, but the story is Rodrigo Lopez's fantastic start. Eight innings, five hits, no walks, two strikeouts, only 82 pitches. His breaking ball was as sharp as it's been all season, and he grabbed his first win since April 10.

One hour, 55 minutes was the game time. Moyer was also quite good for Seattle, going the full eight and allowing just five hits, retiring 17 in a row at one point before a couple of singles by Gibbons and the Chief in the eighth. All his runs were given up in the first, on a sac fly from Sosa and a lazy two-run jack from Raffy.

Never complain about a win like this, because these are as pretty as it gets. Nice to see Roddy in command again.
