Alright, the debacles in Toronto and Atlanta are in the past. The Yankees are in town. Let's throw down.
Come back and fight.
"And that's what we're going to do," he said.
Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered! A sword day, a red day, ere the sun rises! Ride now! Ride now! Ride! Ride for ruin, and the world's ending! Death!
DEATH!
Interesting note from the Sun: Ray Miller says he'll come back next season only if Lee Mazzilli also returns. (Full Article)
I guess I can't blame Ray for that, but I also don't want to see any big rush to bring Mazz back. Let the season play out and see where it's at. I don't doubt that he's a good guy and I think he's shown some improvements this year (and some total non-improvements), but if the Orioles plan to spend money this offseason and try to put together a team truly built to make a run at the World Series, they simply might want a more experienced or more "qualified" manager. The 2006 Orioles just might not be the team for Lee Mazzilli to manage.
But, who knows, we'll see.
Haven't seen any updates on Melvin since Saturday, when it was noted he might miss the New York series. That's not good news, but it's not the worst news either. Hopefully he'll be able to make it back later this week and not make the DL trip. Mora says the only thing he's afraid of right now is running and aggravating it, which of course would only make it about 10 times worse than it is now.
