Jorge "Steve" Julio

How do you like these apples:

Steve Reed: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R
Steve Kline: 0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB

Both got holds.

Jorge "Steve" Julio: 1 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 2 HR

Come on, man. How can we have lost a game where the Arsonists Steve both appeared and didn't give up a single run, Sosa homers, and Sal Fasano homers twice?

But it sure feels like old times with Jorge blowing the game, doesn't it? Bad, awful, terrible old times.

To be fair, the way Ward hits righties, Julio shouldn't have been facing him with two guys on. But we'd used up Kline and Parrish and we can't throw Ryan every night, so it happened and there was nothing to do but cringe.

Brian Roberts got to pinch-hit, and his 0-for-1 night ended his 20-game hitting streak. But don't fret, BJ Surhoff extended his streak to eleven games.

Note: If anyone has any draft analysis they'd like to post, please post a diary. I'd love to have some draft talk, but I'm pretty certain there are those of you far more suited to handle it than I am, as at least a few are more familiar with the draftees than I am.
