The Baltimore Sun's Roch Kubatko reports Baltimore Orioles SP Hayden Penn has allowed 12 runs and 15 hits in his past 5 2/3 innings but Baltimore Orioles MAN Lee Mazzilli said it was "too quick" to make a change. "You're asking a lot of the kid. He's 20 years old. He's shown that he has pretty good stuff. But let's face it, this is the big leagues up here, and when you're making mistakes up, you're going to pay for them," Mazzilli said.
Yes, let's face it, it is the big leagues. I know Mazz can't go, "He's not ready," and I know he's using safe speech, but if you read into it, I think Lee agrees that Hayden shouldn't be in the rotation.
