Palmeiro humbled by peers

New, comment

The AP's Tim Korte did a story on Palmeiro joining the 3,000 hit/500 homer club. Typical Raffy:

Rafael Palmeiro plans to display the ball from his 3,000th hit right next to the one he smacked for his 500th home run.

"You're talking about two of the best players of all time," Palmeiro said after collecting his 3,000th hit when the Orioles beat Seattle 6-3 Friday night. "I'm in a group with them, but that doesn't mean I belong."
