Sporting News/ESPN analyst Ken Rosenthal says that the Pirates do not exist in the deal, and that the sticking point right now is Lowell and how much the Marlins will pay, or if they'll take Ponson or something to move it along. It looks like we've got a deal that's on the verge of going but is held up on the Lowell situation, and the price to get Burnett is taking Lowell.
Rosenthal also says Jorge Julio is "outstanding," though, so I'm not 100% sure about this. He also reported yesterday that the Padres were in the deal at one point. So who knows?
