Ponson leaves in third inning

Some said that just to be annoying, Ponson would pitch well tonight and force management to give him chance No. 687 instead of trying to deal him. It's a Ponson-type idea. Just when you think he could get sent packing, he'd up his game a little, and then of course go back to being Sidney Ponson.

Instead, in an attempt to barehand a liner, he had his thumbnail ripped apart and left the game after two and a third tonight. Get used to Big Sid, he ain't goin' nowhere besides maybe the DL.
