Chris Gomez signed a one-year extension through 2006 for $850k yesterday. If anyone has a good reason why this couldn't wait, I'd love to hear it. Gomez has done some nice things, but they're nice things a lot of guys can do. Actually, I don't know why I'm even bothering to question it (force of habit?). It's chump change for a veteran baseball player that can reasonably play four infield positions and hit some singles.
