Gameday Thread: Rays at O's, 09/18

Doug Waechter, RH Daniel Cabrera, RH
     (5-10, 5.23) (10-11, 4.69)

Game time is 1:35 on WNUV.

Cabrera has been pretty dominant his last two starts and gotten his ERA back down to a more respectable number.

Like yesterday, that's on the other side of the tracks from the Tampa Bay starter. Waechter's last appearance was on September 13, and he did not record a single out before giving up five runs (three earned) on five hits and a walk, as Tampa Bay lost 17-3 to New York. The Rays played 13 hitters that game, and the Yankees were able to get 16 guys in.

This is the last game before our Big Week against the Yanks and Sox, starting with four at Yankee Stadium beginning tomorrow. I hope we sweep and put a big damn dent in their playoff chances. If we play a hand in making sure the Yankees miss the postseason, it'll almost make the second half mess worth it.

There are 15 games left. To finish over .500, the O's will have to go 12-3. Doesn't look good, but I guess it's something to root for.
