Link: Ray Lankford Wing of the Hall of Fame

Our very own Beyond the Box Score has a new article up this morning on the Ray Lankford Wing of the Hall of Fame. The idea is to remember players that were very good and even in many cases quite outstanding (Will Clark) but basically have no hope in hell of reaching the Hall of Fame (Will Clark), whether it's justified in any way or not (Will Clark).

Part of the article deals with Will Clark (Will Clark!). I really like this idea because a bunch of players I love are in -- Mickey Tettleton (my all-time favorite baseball player, as I may have mentioned once or thirty times), Mark Grace, Lou Whitaker, Alan Trammell, Tony Phillips, Lenny Dykstra, Doc Gooden, Darryl Strawberry, Harold Baines, David Cone, Eric Davis, so on and so forth.

And, of course, Will Clark now. Clark was amazingly ignored on the Hall ballot, getting just 4.4% of the vote. Congrats to Will Clark on getting at least some recognition, which he richly deserves. I think I care more about this than I do Sutter getting into the Hall.
