In case you missed it in the thread below, Kevin Millar is indeed an Oriole (pending physical) for one year and $2.1 million.
I'll be honest, I do like the deal. It's extremely low-risk for a guy that has hit every year since 2000 except for 2005. I think it's worth a shot.
If nothing else, we've got a guy to replace Kline as the quotable Oriole of the year.
Here are Millar's last four years:
AB AVG OBP SLG HR BB/K 2002 FLA 438 .306 .366 .509 16 40/74 2003 BOS 544 .276 .348 .472 25 60/108 2004 BOS 508 .297 .383 .474 18 57/91 2005 BOS 449 .272 .355 .399 9 54/74
That's the line I'm looking for: AVG/OBP/SLG, HR, BB/K. Since we have no real idea yet how much Millar will be used, I'll leave it up to you whether you choose to project what he'd do in 450+ at-bats, or if you think he'll have less than that and want to project accordingly.
I'm going to post the Patterson and Tejada/Mora results tomorrow (the latter of which got less responses than I'd like, but it's also Tejada and Mora and less interesting to project, so I expected that), so if you want to get your word in on those guys, you've still got a little time.
