Gameday Thread: Indians at O's, 04/20

Fausto Carmona, RH Erik Bedard, LH (2-1, 3.66) (1-1, 2.25)

Game time is 3:05 on CSN and STOh.

Sometimes you just win 18-9. It happens.

Bedard is trying to join Schilling as the only pitchers to win their first four decisions. Bedard is looking as sharp as he did early last season, and I'm a little more apprehensive about it this time. Last year at this point, I just figured he was going to win 15 games, maybe more, and have a real breakout year. Now, sadly, I'm just sort of waiting for an injury. It's Bedard's history, so pessimism can be forgiven, I guess. I hope he stays healthy and wins 15 games and finally has his breakout year.

Fausto Carmona is 22 years old, born in Santo Domingo. He's a big young man, 6'4" and listed as 220 on the Indians site. He made his major league debut on April 15 against Detroit, throwing six innings, allowing five hits and one earned run. He struck out four and walked two. Not a bad first start at all. This is the first time we'll see Carmona, always a fun thing.
