Today is a special day of the year, the first game against the Yankees. We get to remember all the reasons we hate the New York Yankees. It would take me about a year to get them all out, so I won't bother. But mercy do I hate the New York Yankees.
The Yankees come in 7-7 and the Orioles at 10-7. Kris Benson has two career starts against the Yankees, and his 1-0 with a 0.75 ERA in 12 innings. One of the starts was at Yankee Stadium, and he went six innings, allowing one earned on three hits with three strikeouts and five walks.
Wang made a couple starts last year against us, and did well. He had no decisions, but in 15 innings he allowed 14 hits and five earned runs, striking out seven and walking just one.
The crowd ought to be a little tough and rowdy at Yankee Stadium tonight. The Yankees have played one series at home, against the Royals, from April 11-13.
