Here's a couple of southpaws coming off of poor starts, Chen giving up eight in four against the Indians and Johnson giving up seven in three and a third against the Blue Jays. Johnson's first three starts were solid, though.
Chen's career line against the Yankees is no damn good at all. In nine appearances (eight starts), he's 1-2 with a 6.30 ERA.
This is the rubber game of this weekend series, our first against New York this season. I learned last year not to put any stock into April, but I'm happy with how the O's have played so far. It's been kind of a tug of war between two different Oriole teams, but that was kind of expected, wasn't it? It's a team that gives me a reasonable hope that they could find a groove at some point.
