Kenny Rogers, LH Erik Bedard, LH (5-2, 3.28) (4-2, 4.54)
Game time is 7:05 on CSN and FSN Detroit.
Rogers was signed to anchor the Tiger staff and provide some leadership and I suppose he's done just that. He's had two bad starts this year, April 9 against his old team, Texas, and his last one out against another former team, the Twins, which he got the win for anyway.
Bedard won four in a row to start the season and hasn't won in his last three, and he earned both losses, though he pitched fairly well against Toronto on May 1 in a no-decision (6 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 2 K).
For his career, Rogers is 10-9 with a 4.67 ERA against the Orioles in 46 appearances (28 starts). Bedard is 0-1 with an 8.44 ERA against the Tigers in two career starts, one of them I remember from early last season where he was hammered. Like, they hit him really hard, not like he was drunk.
I hope Mora's back in the lineup tonight, because I think I've seen enough Gomez for a while. He tries and all, but he's still Chris Gomez.
