Expos hire Davey

I missed this yesterday, apparently.

(Well, clearly, really, not so much apparently. It's clear, or obvious, that I missed it yesterday.)

Davey Johnson has been hired by the Expos as a consultant.

The 63-year-old Johnson will contribute to player personnel matters, including the evaluation and scouting of major and minor league players, the team said.

So that's kind of interesting, and the first real rivalry type thing other than Peter Angelos' grumbling that has come out of the Expos existing in DC. Not that they hired Johnson to make the Orioles mad. They hired Johnson because the man knows baseball.

What can I say here? Good luck, Davey. I can't hold any ill will toward him. Nothing was his fault.
