O's, players swap arbitration figures

The O's have three players who have filed for arbitration. Figures were exchanged today (Sun) before the midnight EST deadline.

B-Rob: has two years left under Oriole control before he becomes a free agent, but the O's are discussing a long-term deal with him. Meanwhile, he has asked for $4.6M; the team has countered with $3.8M. Last year, Roberts made $3.075M.

Bedard: has asked for $4M; the team has countered with $2.7M. Last year, he made $1.4M.

Scorey: has asked for $4.6M; the team has countered with $4.0M. Last year Patterson made $2.8M.

Arbitration rulings take place in early- and mid-February. In Angelos' reign, the O's have signed most players and avoided arbitration, but when they have had players go, the O's have won 8 out of 9 total cases, losing only to Big Ben Macdonald.

Personally it's galling to me that the O's would offer $4M to Patterson, but not to B-Rob or Bedard. In fact, if I had to rank those three guys in terms of whom I think should be paid the most, it would be Bedard, then Roberts, then Scorey.
