CC.com Lineup Projections for 2007

Keep in mind, of course, that we're Orioles fans. Probably guesstimate that we're projecting 5-10% higher, at least, than we would if we were talking about another team's players. Or don't, I don't care.

AB AVG OBP SLG HR RBI
R Hernandez 466 .275 .342 .473 19 84
K Millar 474 .279 .378 .448 18 74
J Gibbons 425 .272 .328 .475 20 69
B Roberts 604 .296 .369 .457 15 65
M Mora 554 .279 .347 .420 17 82
M Tejada 648 .322 .374 .517 30 122
A Huff 533 .280 .348 .484 29 95
J Payton 427 .281 .319 .421 12 55
C Patterson 483 .288 .324 .461 17 61
N Markakis 547 .300 .366 .487 23 87

Other projections:
Kevin Millar - 63 BB
Jay Gibbons - 36 BB
Brian Roberts - 41 doubles, 63 BB, 30 SB
Miguel Tejada - 41 doubles
Melvin Mora - 24 doubles
Corey Patterson - 26 BB/90 K, 43 SB
Nick Markakis - 34 doubles, 57/78 BB/K

Let's just say this team really hits like that. It's a good offensive team, then, and let's just say our pitchers are what we project them as, too. Then this is a team that could chase...80-85 wins.

Now, kablammo, let's reality check. Someone's going to get hurt, for one thing. The Yankees, Blue Jays and Red Sox are all good teams, and perhaps all improved from their '06 squads.

We can't contend, really. It would be a huge upset for the Orioles to even finish in third place this year.

But, the Tigers went to the World Series last season, so I say we're going to win the division. Not with the projections we came up with, no, no. The team will be MUCH better than that. Yeah. Yeah yeah yeah.

I don't mean to be vulgar or crass (earmuffs!), but can we just get to the fucking season already?
