Today's | GS | IP | ERA | WHIP | BAA | HR | BB | K | W-L |
Paul Maholm - LH | 13 | 83.0 | 4.55 | 1.40 | .339 | 11 | 22 | 55 | 4-5 |
Daniel Cabrera - RH | 14 | 91.0 | 4.35 | 1.33 | .335 | 12 | 36 | 50 | 5-2 |
So, we all love the way Danny has pitched this year. Throwing strikes, letting his 2-seamer move, and 9 Quality Starts. But when you compare his numbers to Paul Maholm, a sub-.500 pitcher on a sub-.500 team, well, they look pretty darn similar to me. The BAA is almost identical, the K-BB ratio actually favors Maholm, and hitters are hitting at a better than .333 clip against both of them. The HR numbers are the same, while Maholm has a lot fewer walks and more strikeouts in 8 fewer IP.
So what does it mean for today? Not a damn thing. Danny goes back to being the good Danny we saw a month ago, and the O's sweep. Ya heard it here first.
