Gameday Thread: O's (58-62) @ Tigers (59-62)

Today's Starting Pitchers GS IP ERA WHIP BAA HR BB K W-L
Chris Waters - LH 2 12.0 4.50 1.17 .186 2 6 8 1-0
Nate Robertson - LH 24 140.1 5.84 1.58 .313 19 43 90 7-8

There was no way you could have convinced me in the spring that the O's and Tigers would have basically the same record on August 15.

Part of the problem, I guess, is relying on guys like Nate Robertson to continue their level of relative success. Nate's a little below league average most years, and guys like that run the risk of a few extra bad pitches a year making them pretty damn awful, which he has been (74 ERA+). If it weren't for the epic fail that is Dontrelle Willis, Robertson would be the Tigers' worst starter this season. I know Willis only threw a handful of games, but he was so bad that it can be no one else. That's another one you could sort of see coming, and anyone that tells you differently has just not paid attention to Willis' stunning and progressive collapse since the high water mark of 2005.

Speaking of high waters, y'all are high if you expect much out of Waters today.

Trivia: Waters was born in Lakeland, FL, home of a Tigers single-A affiliate.

Trivia: Waters' middle name is Myron.
