FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. - Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts confirmed this morning that he is on the verge of signing a four-year, $40 million contract extension that will tie him to the team through the 2013 season. "Obviously, it's fairly close to done,'' he said. "I think we're all excited about the possibility it is where it is. It's a long process, but in the end both sides are happy." Team sources said today that details of the contract are finalized and Roberts just has to take a physical to complete the deal. The club is expected to hold a news conference tomorrow to make the official announcement
