GameThread: Angels (7-11) @ Orioles (9-11)

Jim Adenhart will throw out the first pitch tonight. Chances are Nick would've pitched tomorrow. I hope Jim and his family have as good a time as they possibly can tonight at the ballgame.

2009 - Joe Saunders 2-1 4 4 0 0 0 0 25.2 20 10 10 3 8 8 3.51 1.09

Saunders was 2-0 (4.08/1.58) in three starts against the O's last season, and is 4-0 (4.40/1.60) in five starts lifetime. He doesn't do so hot lefty-versus-lefty against Huff Daddy, who is 6-for-12 (all singles) against Saunders. But he has a lock on Nick Markakis, who is 2-for-15. Brian Roberts is 2-for-13 career, and Adam Jones 1-for-7. The first three batters in our lineup are a combined 5-for-35 (.143) against Joe Saunders. Not a great sign, obviously.

2009 - Adam Eaton 1-2 3 3 0 0 0 0 15.1 23 12 12 1 4 19 7.04 1.76

This guy. He's got a love-hate relationship with Bobby Abreu: Abreu is 4-for-16 with two doubles and 5 RBIs against Eaton, but also has struck out six times and never walked. Vlad the Impaler is 6-for-14 with a homer lifetime against Adam. Go get 'em, dude. I'm trying like the dickens to believe in his excellent K-to-BB ratio (19-to-4) and ignore that batters are hitting .338 off of him, which means he still has a 1.76 WHIP and 7.04 ERA.
