GameThread: Orioles (17-25) @ Nationals (12-29)

Game 2 of the Orioles/National series in Washington is tonight at

This isn’t a rivalry. And I don’t mean that it’s not a rivalry in the Penn State/ Maryland football sense, where we Terp fans of the 1980s just KNEW this was our year to knock off the Nittany Lions while Penn State fans just went ahead and penciled in a win for 26 years straight.

I mean, there’s no sense of rivalry, there’s no sense of meaning, there’s nothing on the line. We win? So what? The Nats are terrible. We’re supposed to beat them. They win? So what? We’re terrible and they’re at home. Who cares?

What we got here is NOT two teams that just plain don’t like each other, to paraphrase Keith Jackson. What we got here is two teams that just plain don’t care about each other.

Woo-hoo, Interleague play! Feel the excitement!

Koji Uehara (2-3, 4.32, 1.17) goes for the O’s and Ross Dewiler (0-0. 3.60, 0.80) throws for the Nats.
