Royals (40-59) at Orioles (42-57)

Let's play Bet You Didn't Know.

1. Bet You Didn't Know the Orioles still have a better record than the Royals. Oh, wait, that's in the thread title. Let's continue.

2. Bet You Didn't Know one of tonight's starting pitchers hasn't won a game in more than a month. Zack Greinke, he of the 0.80 ERA in May, is winless since June and has a losing record since his first six starts.

3. Bet You Didn't Know that Greinke is suffering from Jeremy Guthrie Syndrome - pitch great, and get no run support. In his last four outings, he's 0-3 with a TOTAL of three runs of support. That's total, not average. Three. And you thought the O's lineup could go cold.

4. Bet You Didn't Know Chris Tillman's done his homework. He was given a specific assignment by Andy MacPhail and the Orioles' Front Office: Improve your change-up. He did, and here he is, with a change-up to go with a big-league-ready fastball and curveball.

5. Bet You Didn't Know the next member of The Big 3, Jake Arrieta, has a losing record at Norfolk, even though his ERA is a not-horrible 4.34 and has 43 Ks against just 17 BBs. Told you Win-Loss records are overrated. Arrieta starts tonight. Here's the audio link if the O's game gets too depressing.

6. Bet You Didn't Know the OTHER Japanese import of the off-season, Ryohei Tanaka (0-1, 1.64 ERA), goes tonight for Bowie. Now that's an impressive ERA.

7. Bet You Didn't Know if George Sherrill's going anywhere, it's really looking like the Dodgers.Dan Connolly examines the trade market for the Orioles: "Any [George] Sherrill trade with the Dodgers would likely involve 22-year-old switch-hitting third baseman Josh Bell, who batted .300 with 11 homers and 52 RBIs in his first 92 games this season with Double-A Chattanooga."

8. Bet You Didn't Know Chris Tillman will rock 54 as his uniform number tonight.

9. Bet You Could Have Guessed the Orioles are batting .157 with runners in scoring position in their last eight games, including 1 for 10 last night.

10. Bet You Did Know the Orioles have won exactly two games since the All-Star Break. It's time to change that.

Weather seems to be clearing, looks like we'll get this in. Let's Go O's.
