Fun fact (if by fun you mean depressing)! The Orioles record on the road is 18-39 and the Rays record at home is 39-18! That bodes well for the O's tonight, don't you think?
Jason Berken is not a very good pitcher. He wasn't supposed to be, though, and we're stuck watching him for the rest of the year so that the team's young talent doesn't get overworked. I suppose I'm appreciative for that, even if it's sometimes hard to watch him. He does have periods in almost every game where he puts it together and looks good for a few innings, so maybe there's hope for him in the bullpen for next year. He's certainly not the worst pitcher the O's have ever made us watch. Hell, he's not even the worst pitcher we've watched this year.
It's a shame Aubrey Huff is gone before this series as he did always love to stick it to his old team. Our current former Devil Ray, Ty Wigginton, has only played 8 games against the Rays but he is 7 for 25 with 3 2B and a HR, so maybe he'll pick up where Aubrey left off. He IS Aubrey's fat male stalker so he probably wants to do him proud.
Edit: I threw this Game Thread up in about five minutes before leaving work today so it would be up before game time, and I just glanced at David Price's stats before writing about his troubles. On the drive home I listened to Joe Angel talk about his home/road splits and how great he's been his last five starts and I knew I had to come home and delete what I said about him. Thanks for straightening me out, Joe!
