GameThread: Indians (57-71) @ Orioles (53-76), 7:05 PM

Programming Note: MASN is carrying the Orioles, Nationals, and Ravens games tonight so there's been a lineup shuffle. If you are in the Baltimore viewing area, the O's will be broadcast on WJZ, the Nats will be on MASN1/MASNHD, and the Ravens will be on MASN2. In the DC viewing area, the O's will be broadcast on MASN2 as originally scheduled, the Nats will be on DC50 and MASNHD, and the Ravens will be on MASN1. ADDENDUM BY DUCK: Those who watch outside either market will see the Nats game on MASN and the O's game on MASN2. I have no idea where you will find the Ravens game, since it's nowhere to be found on the Eastern Shore. Simple, right?

Adam Jones is back in the lineup tonight for the first time since August 23rd when he left the game after one at-bat with a back strain. It's nice to see Adam and I hope the rest did him good as he was really struggling before his injury. Speaking of injuries, as of 4:07 PM I haven't seen any updates on Felix Pie, but he's not in the lineup tonight.

Chris Tillman's last start was a successful one but he got the hard-luck loss. He also got pulled after just 5.1 innings, his shortest outing since his major league debut. Tillman was clearly frustrated on the bench and in his post game interview he said things like "it all happened so fast" and "I'm not even sure what happened out there." Sometimes when I watch him I forget that he's just 21 years old (and that he won't be 22 until AFTER Opening Day 2010), but in that interview he looked so young and lost. We are seeing this young man grow up in front of us.

Jeremy Sowers is in his fourth big league season and with the trades of Cliff Lee and Carl Pavano has become the elder statesman of the Indians rotation at 26. He had a very promising rookie season in 2006 but hasn't been able to keep it up since then. He has a low K rate and an uninspiring BB rate, but he hasn't been home run prone this year. He's not bad, but not great.

Let's go O's!

W-L ERA WHIP K BB
2009 - Jeremy Sowers 5-9 4.93 1.43 42 41
