On Monday, May 24 from noon to 1 p.m., Southwest Airlines is turning McKeldin Square (located at the corner or Pratt and Light streets) into a beach scene complete with beach bags, beach balls, the one and only Baltimore Orioles Mascot, and dozens of Southwest employees dressed ready to head to the beach! The employees will be passing out 200 beach bags to the first passersby who show up. The bags are filled with items donated by local businesses from Panama City Beach. Also, six beach bags will contain two roundtrip tickets on Southwest, plus hotel accommodations to the Panama City Beach Area! ... I clipped it because of the Bird's appearance, but one of you should go down there and win that trip. -zk

Norfolk won 3-2 as Robert Andino had a two-out, ninth inning single for the walk-off win, Bowie won 5-1 as Zach Britton went 6.0 IP and gave up just 1 run, Keys lost 6-1 as Rick Zagone gave up six runs in the first two innings, and the Shorebirds lost 2 games as they gave up big innings in both games, surrendering a 5-run 4th inning in Game 1 and a 7 run inning in Game 2.

I know it's just the minors, but still: our old friend Adam Loewen seems to be figuring out AA pitching. His AVG/OBP/OPS on the year is .265/.374/.827. But more impressive are his last 10 games: .351/.429/.996. Wonder if we could trade for him? -zk
