GameThread: Orioles (15-33) @ Blue Jays (27-22), 7:07 PM

The Blue Jays are currently tied for third in the AL East, 6.5 games back of the Tampa Bay Rays. Their 27-22 record would put them in first place in the AL Central, AL West, and NL East, and would put them 1 game back of first place in the NL Central and NL West. What I'm saying is, the Jays have a lot more reason to hate the AL East than the Orioles do. At least they've been kind of good in the recent past.

Before the season started I was adamant that the Jays were going to be awful this year. There's still time, of course, but given the massive suckage of the Orioles I think this will not be the year that Matt Wieters leads us to the promised land. Their starting pitching has been good and I think Romero, Marcum, and Cecil are pretty legit, but their lineup has been playing way over its head. I mean, look at the stats for John Buck, Jose Bautista, and Alex Gonzalez. Honestly, why doesn't that ever happen for the Orioles?

Anyway, it's The Mentor vs Shaun Marcum tonight. Enjoy your holiday weekend, y'all. Drive safe. Be responsible. Blah blah blah.
