From Philly.com:

Phillies icon Robin Roberts, who was a key member of the 1950 Whiz Kids, died this morning, the Phillies said. Roberts was 83.

He spent 15 years with the Phillies before stints with Baltimore, Houston and Chicago, compiling a 286-245 record with a 3.41 ERA for his career. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1976.

Roberts played for the Orioles from 1962-1965, compiling a 42-36 record with a 3.09 ERA over 106 starts, but was of course best known for his 14 seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies

Thoughts and condolences to his family and friends. It's been a rough year for former Orioles.
