The Giants have called up Joe Martinez to make the start against the Orioles tonight. I was under the impression that this was Martinez's major league debut, but I was mistaken. He pitched in 9 games (5 starts) in 2009; this will simply be his 2010 debut. I noticed on Martinez's B-R page that he was born in South Orange, NJ, so I'm assuming daveh873 has already picked him up in fantasy.

There aren't many reasons to stay up for west coast baseball if you're an Orioles fan, but Jake Arrieta is one of them. He's making his second career start tonight after earning the win last Thursday in his debut against the Yankees. He pitched well against the Yankees but threw too many balls, and was unfortunately ordered to intentionally walk two batters in the sixth inning. Let's hope that doesn't happen again.

Lineups:

Orioles: Corey Patterson LF, Miguel Tejada 3B, Nick Markakis RF, Ty Wigginton 2B, Luke Scott 1B, Adam Jones CF, Matt Wieters C, Cesar Izturis SS, Jake Arrieta RHP

Giants: Andres Torres CF, Freddy Sanchez 2B, Aubrey Huff RF, Juan Uribe SS, Pat Burrell LF, Buster Posey 1B, Pablo Sandoval 3B, Bengie Molina C, Joe Martinez RHP

Note: Juan Samuel announced that Chris Tillman will work out of the bullpen for now. Sigh (Roch)
