Athletics (38-41) @ Orioles (24-53): Happy Josh Bell Day!

For me it's always exciting when a prospect makes his major league debut, even if I'm nervous that it's a bad idea (but enough of that, see the post below this for that discussion). I'm happy that tonight I'll add Bell to the list of young Orioles I've seen debut in person (the list includes Nick Markakis, Brad Bergesen, Jason Berken, Matt Wieters, Chris Tillman, and Jake Arrieta) and I really hope the kid does well. Felix Pie won't be activated until Monday at the earliest, which means he'll miss the Boston series. That's mostly a shame because I'd already picked out the picture I was going to use for the gamethread.

Speaking of young players, Jake Arrieta will make his fifth big league start tonight, and who knows what we'll see? I have a good feeling about him. Please don't ask me why. If the O's win tonight it'll be the first time this season they've won back-to-back series. It'll be tough; that Cahill kid is pretty good.

Speaking again of young players, keep an eye on Norfolk's game tonight because Zach Britton is making his AAA debut.

Let's Go O's!
