Prior to the start of this series, Joe Posnanski wrote on twitter: "I'm jazzed about this Royals-Orioles series. Maybe it's self-flagellation ... but I'm just ready for some atrocious baseball." Pos hasn't been let down, because last night's game was the epitome of atrocious. There were errors and misplays on both sides, a starting pitcher who went from no-hitter to out of the game in a third of an inning, wild pitches, a 36 year old catcher trying to stretch a double in extra innings and getting thrown out by a mile, Brian Roberts trying to bunt, fourteen walks, eleven pitchers, Willie Bloomquist leading off, a bases loaded walk, a game tying home run in the 9th, and probably a few other things I missed because I stopped paying attention for several long stretches of time.
Will tonight's night be more of the same? Will the atrocities continue or will Jake Arreta be able to stop it?
