It probably comes to no surprise to anyone that the SBN baseball writers voted Justin Verlander as the AL Cy Young. Verlander pitched 251 innings in 2011 with a 2.40 ERA and 2.99 FIP and was pretty much the only thing that kept the Tigers from being an average baseball team this season.
The only other pitcher to get any first-place votes was CC Sabathia, and while I'm not at liberty to disclose who every blog voted for, I will say that neither vote for Sabathia came from Pinstripe Alley. As for how Camden Chat voted, EME and I submitted very similar ballots. We both voted Verlander, Sabathia, and Jered Weaver as numbers one, two and three. In fourth place I opted for Dan Haren while EME voted for James Shields, and we both picked C.J. Wilson in fifth place.
Tomorrow SBN will reveal the NL Cy Young.
