Orioles 0, Yankees 0: Sister Kissing

The Orioles' first televised Spring Training game was a bust as they couldn't manage to score one run off of the Yankees pitching staff led by Sergio Mitre. The Orioles managed only six hits, two of which were by Adam Jones. Mark Reynolds had the only extra base hit with a double, and Brian Roberts, Nick Green, and Felix Pie had one single each.

The good news is that the pitching was effective, holding the Yankees to just four hits, just one of which was for extra bases (a double by Melky Mesa). Zach Britton pitched three innings and looked quite good. He walked one and gave up two singles. He was followed by Kevin Gregg, Jeremy Accardo, David Riske, Clay Rapada, and Chris Jakubauskas (or, as Gary Thorne called him, Jakuboskie).  Gregg and Riske each walked one but the others were perfect.

It may have been a boring game, but it sure was good to see the boys live and in color on the television. Is it Opening Day yet?
