Game 50: Orioles (24-25) @ Athletics (25-27), 10:05pm

If I got to choose a coast I got to choose the East, I live out there, but that don't mean a nigga can't rest in the west
If I got to choose a coast I got to choose the East, I live out there, but that don't mean a nigga can't rest in the west

With the Orioles out on the west coast, I feel like this is the prime time for us to consult one of my favorite tomes for sage wisdom, that being The Wire. On the topic of how they do it out west, Snoop counsels the following: f*** them, 'cause in B-more we aim to hit a nigga, you heard?

Yesterday is one of those games we should never talk about again, so I won't, except to say that Michael Gonzalez is a terrible pitcher, I'm embarrassed that we have paid him ten million dollars, and every day that he remains on the roster compounds the error. With that said I will re-instate my personal Gonzo embargo until the next time he sucks, which will surely be the next time he appears in a game.

Brian Matusz will be back soon, so tonight's O's starter, Brad Bergesen, needs to put in a good start or his rotation spot may be gone - whether he'll be optioned back to AAA or sent to the bullpen, who knows? Bergy is sporting a 5.64 ERA.

The starter for the Athletics is Josh Outman, who is a young lefty making his second start of 2011 and the 18th of his career. Do you smell no-hitter? I smell no-hitter.

Craig Tatum is catching tonight. Maybe tonight will finally be the night that Stacey gets to write about a tater for Tatum. No, probably not. Didn't I already predict a no-hitter? If you're wondering why Matt Wieters is off again, On the O's Insider blog, Jeff Z speculates that it's because the O's would have given Wieters off tomorrow anyway but they want to keep him paired up with Zach Britton. Well, OK. Sounds good to me. Go O's!
