Hello, Luke Scott. So long, Matt Angle.

Via press release:

The Orioles today announced that they have reinstated OF LUKE SCOTT from the 15-day Disabled List and optioned OF MATT ANGLE to Triple-A Norfolk.

Scott, 33, is hitting .223 (46-206) with nine home runs and 22 RBI in 63 games with the Orioles this season.  He batted .500 (5-10) with a double and three home runs in three rehab games with Double-A Bowie.

Angle, 25, made his major league debut on Sunday against Cleveland after having his contract selected earlier in the day.  He went 0-for-7 with a walk in two games played with Baltimore.

So, Luke is back. What does that mean for Nolan Reimold's playing time? Time will tell, although we should all hope that it means Scott will served as the designated hitter with Reimold getting time in left field. The real question, which was posed in the open thread by Andrew_G, is what will happen to Reimold once Vladimir Guerrero has also returned to the lineup? My guess is that it'll be bench city for Reimold at that point.

You'll note I haven't mentioned Felix Pie. Well, that's because the idea of him playing over Nolan Reimold makes me want to vomit, so I can't dwell on it for too long. (Since posting this I discovered that Pie is playing over Reimold tonight. Of course he is. If you need me, I'll be in the bathroom heaving up my lunch)

Update: The news on the Twitter from the various Orioles sources is that Scott is only feeling about 70% but that the team is going to give him 3-5 games to see if he'll be able to play for the rest of the season or if he'll need to be shut down.
