Norfolk beat Lehigh Valley 5-4. Ryan Adams went 1-5 with a K. Jake Fox went 2-4 with a K. Kyle Hudson recorded 3 singles in 4 at bats and stole 2 bases.

Bowie beat Reading 6-4 in 10. Oliver Drake went 5 innings, giving up 2 earned runs on 5 hits and 2 walks, striking out 3 and posting a GB/FB of 9/1. I'm not sure where his pitch count was after 5. Xavier Avery went 1-6 with 2 strikeouts. Greg Miclat went 0-4 with a walk and 2 strikeouts and committed his 18th error on the season. LJ Hoes went 1-4 with a walk. Joe Mahoney went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks, bringing his OPS to 853 on the season which would be good for 17th in the Eastern League if he qualified. Caleb Joseph went 1-5 with 2 strikeouts.

Frederick beat Myrtle Beach 5-2. Jonathan Schoop went 3-5 with 2 Ks. Manny Machado went 1-5 with 2 Ks. Aaron Baker went 1-3 with a double, a walk and a K. Kipp Schutz DNP.

Delmarva beat Hagerstown 6-4. Ty Kelly went 1-3 with a walk. Michael Ohlman went 3-4, but did commit his 14th error. Jake Cowan struck out 10 in 5.2 innings, but also gave up 3 earned runs on 4 hits and 3 walks; he posted a GB/FB of 4/2.

Aberdeen beat State College 5-1. All Star Trent Howard went 5 innings, giving up 1 earned on 3 hits and a walk, striking out 3 and posting a GB/FB of 7/2. Glynn Davis went 2-5. Mychal Givens went 2-5 with a triple. Joe Velleggia went 0-3 with 2 walks and a K. Dudley Leonora went 0-3. Wynston Sawyer and Connor Narron DNP.

The GCL Orioles were rained out today.

The DSL Orioles lost to the DSL Rockies 2-1. Byron Capellan went 1-4 with a double and a K. Hector Veloz wore the golden sombrero today. Alex Mercedes DNP. 19 year old Janser Severino went six innings, giving up 1 earned run on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 8. Severino has a K/BB of 68/25 in 70.1 innings, with a 2.05 ERA.

Other notes:

- Melewski posted a blog entry about 6th rounder/overslot Nick Delmonico potentially signing, or at least not reporting to the University of Georgia. Delmonico was the 88th best prospect in the draft per Baseball America, so it would be nice if the Orioles signed him. Besides the first and second rounder, the other kid I really hope the Orioles sign is Jason Coats (12th rounder), but my knowledge of the amateurs is weak at best. Anyway, here is the link.
