After a bad loss to end the Red Sox series and a bad loss to start the Tigers series, I sure hope the Orioles have someone they can rely on starting this game! Oh...it's Zach Britton.
Zach Attack hasn't been much this season, starting it on the disabled list and then being optioned to AAA once he was healthy due to the lack of success in his rehab starts. Britton has made five big-league starts this season with a rotund 8.10 ERA and 6.17 BB/9. He's pitched nine games at AAA Norfolk where his stats are better, but not good. In his last AAA start before his call up, Britton pitched 3 2/3 innings where he gave up 6 runs on 3 hits and 4 walks. But he struck out 7, so...that's something?
The good news for the Orioles is that starting for the Tigers is their worst starter (ERA-wise) this season, Rick Porcello. Porcello is sporting a 4.68 ERA this season, but he doesn't walk many or give up many home runs. His problem this season seems to be that the opposing teams are hitting him all over the place. I'd appreciate if that trend could continue for one more day.
