Camdencast Episode 33 - Machadomas

For the first time in Camdencast history, there was an urgent need for a breaking news edition of the podcast, and since Andrew and I don't have anything better to do in the wee hours of a Thursday morning than to react with open microphones to the surprise callup of Manny Machado, we've done just that for you. (If you want to join the raging debate, scroll down to the news post about the call-up, or, actually, just click here.)

Mostly, we want to make sure expectations are not crazy high, but there is the real possibility out there that this could mean an upgrade for the Orioles and help for whatever they will be chasing as the season winds to a close. Anything could happen and for once it's an exciting time in Birdland - and we can start to accept (maybe) that they aren't going to fail forever. Perhaps they have stopped failing and we just haven't realized it yet.

Also, there's a little strange diversion into the 1990s here. Look, I don't know, okay. These things happen.

This special bonus podcast is just under 20 minutes in length. An embedded player is below the jump for your listening convenience.

If you were subscribed to Camdencast on iTunes, you might have been able to listen to the podcast even before this post went up. You can also use another program of your choice to subscribe with the XML.

Camdencast remains safe for work, provided that your boss doesn't mind you listening to podcasts instead of while doing work.

That's all for tonight - we should be back at our regular date and time with discussion on all the rest of the recent Orioles developments. Thanks for listening. Take care until next time!
